I wish I could share what is happening

Today, I got off a two-hour call with a millionaire who owns a business. He actually has multiple businesses. I was trying to sell to his door supplier business. I cold-called the front desk two weeks ago, and he picked up. He usually doesn’t; his dispatchers at the front desk do. But if they miss the call, it goes to his phone. That’s how I got to him on my first ring.

I had 2 30min convos with him before. Today he was going to try out my product and we had a call scheduled. He wasn’t there 10min in, so I called him and asked if he had 15min. He said just 15min yes. He stayed on the call for two hours, patiently speaking as if he had no commitments. His businesses were running smoothly, although today was Labor Day. In fact, this happened seven hours ago as I write this.

He told me how he got into the door business. How he innovated and disrupted the industry by becoming the fastest supplier to deliver doors. How, at age 41, he has the freedom to go surfing in Mexico whenever he wants. How he has invested in real estate and opened his first business when he was 21. How he used to be a one-man team like me.

And then he gave me an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. He is taking a bet on me, a total outsider to this space until five months ago.

Fate led to this. I have to impress him and execute. This is a pivotal moment.
